Training info

All training is performed in a safe and effective manner following the steps of the humane hierarchy. We follow LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Intrusive) principle.
Currently, we offer the following types of training:
  • Basic obedience cues and manners. Sit, down, stay, come, leave-it, basic loose-leash walking, and more! (More depending on the pace at which your dog learns.)
  • Intermediate and up cues and trick training. Want your dog to learn something more specific? Find and retrieve objects? Jump through a hoop? Contact us to discuss your training goals!
  • Problem-solving* Jumping, nuisance barking, chewing, leash pulling, etc. We specialize in creative, innovative problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Desensitization** This type of training is a building block for helping more severe behavioral issues such as reactivity, separation anxiety, and even prey drive toward other household pets.

*Note, a problem-solving training plan may include more than training alone. Suggestions of modifications to the dog's routine and physical barriers (i.e.: a privacy screen over a chain-link fence to block views) go hand-in-hand with training. Part of problem-solving is seeing and treating the entire picture.
**At this time, we do not work with people-aggressive dogs.
